New report shows Thanksgiving travel dangers

WASHINGTON - The CDC is recommending against travel for Thanksgiving this weekend, and a new report concurs.

The website WalletHub decided to rank the 50 safest states to spend Thanksgiving, and none of the states in our listening area made the top 10, much less the top 20.

In fact, Missouri ranked 47th, while Nebraska ranked 44th and Iowa ranked 43rd. Kansas came in at 26th. Outside of COVID numbers, WalletHub also looked at crime and DUI rates for it's report.

As for the safest state to spend Thanksgiving, WalletHub found that it's Vermont. The full WalletHub report can be found here.
